Nitrogen Generator used for Gas Shielding
March 19, 2025
GENERON® has developed and manufactured a nitrogen generator from the NOW Panel series, which will be utilized by a leading company in Industrial Automation as a shield gas for their electronics assembly process.

Nitrogen use, particularly in soldering, offers several advantages. N₂ reduces oxidation by displacing oxygen, enhancing solder joint reliability and minimizing defects. This absence of oxides improves solder flow and adhesion, resulting in stronger connections. Nitrogen in wave soldering reduces dross formation, minimizing waste and maintenance costs. It enhances solderability, lowers defect rates, and decreases rework needs by preventing issues like bridging and solder balling. Additionally, nitrogen provides a stable environment for consistent soldering quality and improved temperature regulation, which is advantageous for lead-free soldering alloys prone to oxidation.

GENERON’s NOW CP6150-G1 achieves standard purities of up to 99.5% by utilizing patented GENERON® Hollow Fiber Membranes. With feed air meeting ISO specification ISO 8573-1:2010 1, 4, 1; Generon’s long-lasting Combined Polymer (CP) nitrogen membrane modules deliver twice the nitrogen flow with the same compressed air compared to competitors. This advanced system is designed for high flow rates while maintaining a small modular design. Inside the membrane module, thousands of fibers are present. Compressed feed air enters one end of the fibers, while the enriched nitrogen product gas is released from the other end. As the feed air moves through the module, oxygen and water vapor are selectively removed and vented off.
The NOW panel features a compact, wall-mounted design for equipment rooms or production areas, allowing for simple, unattended operation with no moving parts. Its low ownership cost ensures a quick return on investment. Generon, a world leader in Nitrogen Membrane Systems, focuses on reducing nitrogen management costs through innovative technologies.
