GENERON at SPACECOM EXPO 2025 Highlights Nitrogen Technology
March 03, 2025
GENERON® and its sister company Houston Vessel Manufacturing, were delighted to participate in this year’s SPACECOM Expo, engaging in insightful discussions with industry leaders such as NASA, Blue Origin, and others regarding nitrogen and pressure vessel applications and requirements. The event provided an excellent platform for collaboration and exploration of innovative solutions within the commercial space industry.

Generon welcomed numerous visitors to our booth where our NOW Panel Series Nitrogen Generator was on display. Many conversations began with attendees sharing their experiences and interests in liquid nitrogen applications. This naturally led to conversations about Houston Vessel Manufacturing’s capabilities for pressure vessels. As well as discussions regarding gaseous nitrogen, highlighting the distinction between Generon’s membrane and PSA technologies.
Generon’s patented membrane technology utilizes polymeric hollow fiber membranes to separate nitrogen from compressed air. As air flows through, faster permeating gases like oxygen are expelled, allowing nitrogen to be collected at the desired purity. This continuous, unattended, low-maintenance process provides an effective facility-generated nitrogen solution with purity levels up to 99.5% and potentially higher upon request.
Generon’s Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology efficiently generates high-purity nitrogen (up to 99.999%) by separating it from compressed air using Carbon Molecular Sieves (CMS). The process includes alternating cycles of adsorption and desorption in two high-pressure towers, where oxygen and other gases are adsorbed while nitrogen is collected. Reducing pressure releases the adsorbed gases, regenerating the adsorbent, and maintaining a continuous production of high-purity nitrogen.
GENERON provides multiple technologies for nitrogen generation and gas separation solutions, along with a full range of supporting products. The company operates ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facilities located in Houston, Texas, and Pittsburg, California.
